Mouth yeast infections are not as well known as vaginal yeast infections but they are caused by the same fungi. Similar to the symptoms of vaginal yeast infections, burning and painful irritation occurs when the mouth is infected. Symptoms may also include cravings for sugar and other carbohydrates and digestive distress may be present as well. If left untreated, other painful symptoms such as muscle aches and even depression can occur. It’s important for this type of infection to be diagnosed by a doctor and treated accordingly.
