Great Job On The Data Storage And Disaster Recovery Plan
It was late into the night before Peter finally closed the hood of his car after finishing the work on his engine . He was finally positive that he fixed the problem properly . He went back inside to tell his wife Darlene that he was going for a spin to make sure the car was functioning. After searching the house for her, he found her in the den surfing the Internet . “What are you doing? I was going to take the Nissan for a ride,” he said. She didn’t answer at first, just hushed him for a minute. He was interested in what she was doing, so he sat and watched the screen . It occurred to him that she wasn’t searching the web, she was doing something on Microsoft Word, but he wasn’t sure what it was . After a minute, she turned around to him. “Go ahead, it’s getting late, honey. Go take the car out, but not too far.” At that point he became suspicious, asking her what she was working on . She was obviously annoyed by him asking, letting him know that he already knew that she was in charge of her high school reunion “Yeah, you went to Evanston High School, right? Didn’t you say there were, like, 1300 kids in your graduating class?” She responded with the exact number, then questioned him leaving her alone so she could get some work done . “I will, I will. Wow. That’s a lot of names. Do you know everybody on this list?” Obviously she didn’t, as her high school was four different schools combined to one, acting annoyed because again, she had told him all of this before. Peter reminded Darlene that once she tabulated all the names and tried to track all of those people down, she would need to have some kind of Data Storage Device. This way, she could keep a database of everybody, at least until after the 20th reunion was over. At this point he realized that it was way too late to take the car for a test drive so he just gave his wife a kiss and told her goodnight .
My friend Bob was so pumped about the music collection he has . He has over 50,000 tunes on his laptop. I could not even begin to imagine how many I would have on mine if my computer were capable of downloading music . I couldn’t believe Bob’s collection. It is obvious he loves music, but it’s weird he loves any type of music and his taste does not have any boundaries . He loves every one of them, from the New Pornographers to Death Cab for Cutie and back. I realized that his computer was the optimum Online Data Backup . He grinned at me, as if to say when are you going to get yours? Hey, that’s OK; I can just come over and listen to his whenever he’s home, right? What is even more amazing is that he listens to these songs through his phone too because he has found a way to transfer them to his blackberry . The kid can listen to his music wherever he feels like it, at school, at work, on the bus, in the bar, in his car..wherever he feels like it . You know, it just doesn’t seem fair—my dad always talks about how when he was a kid, he played with something called a Whirly-Bird and marbles and they played stickball and tag. You sure can’t do any of that on a computer, not even on a video game. All the active physical stuff is lost. Life isn’t simple these days it seems very complex.
I get so tired of filing all these names for the dentist. It’s great that he’s getting so many new patients, especially since they built those homes a mile down the highway from us—but really. I asked him to hire another person, even if it is just part time but he said no . In between servicing all his patients and taking phone calls about bills, I don’t get a moment’s rest. With all the new patients, the filing work will never be done . I have a million patients with a million different problems and it is starting to get extremely frustrating, I don’t think I can handle it much longer . Last name is Brenner—let me see, does that come before or after Brennan? I have to figure out some sort of Disaster Recovery.
