The use of a time management quiz can quickly identify what areas of your work and personal life are letting you down in managing of your time.

A quiz may sound like fun to most and yes it is but as a tool to help you isolate just where your productivity levels are being affected, it’s very powerful and should just about be the first thing you do before commencing any time management program.

The following are a series of questions you simply answer yes or no too. Take the quiz:

- Do you start your day without a structured routine?

- Do you have trouble meeting deadlines?

- Have you a set time in the day when you commence either your work or personal tasks?

- Do you tackle the less urgent tasks first?

- Do tackle the easiest tasks first?

- Do you work from a to do list?

- Can you separate your social life from your work life?

- Do you prepare for the following day the night before or in the morning?

- Do you have a set of short term goals you set yourself each day, week or month?

- Do you have a mentor who you can answer too at the end of each day, week or month?

- In work time, do you think you have your work under control?

The above quiz can quickly identify where you may be falling down in the area of managing your time effectively. Obviously it’s not the be all and end all of solving your problems but it will at least give you some guide to where you can improve.

Analyze your answers and answer the questions truthfully. For example…”Do you start your day without a structured routine?”

A no answer here can be regarded as a negative. Some structure is needed for both work and personal time if only for direction. Setting an end goal for any task and to the end of the day gives you something to aim for.
